Kaufman, TX – April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. On April 5th, Lone Star CASA is raising awareness at Child Abuse Prevention Proclamation Day at the Kaufman County Courthouse with other organizations to bring attention to the need for more community members to step up and help end child abuse and neglect, by supporting children and their families.
“We are so grateful for the opportunity to bring forth awareness to the children we serve in our community. We appreciate and cherish the support that the Kaufman County Community has showed us and other organizations that serve children in need this month” said Lauren Rowe, Executive Director of Lone Star CASA.
Locally, Lone Star CASA served 293 children in the foster care system in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties in 2021. This April and Proclamation Day, we are celebrating those children and advocating for the safety and care of all children in our community.
“We at Lone Star CASA always hope for the day when CASA, foster care and a national month dedicated to child abuse prevention are no longer needed because all children are growing up safe, secure and supported with their families,” said Lauren Rowe, Executive Director of Lone Star CASA. “Until then, we will continue to seek more members of the community to join our growing movement so that we can support every child who needs it in our community.”
