Over this past year, the City of Terrell and several local companies have proven to be steadfast partners in creating a brighter future for our community’s most vulnerable children. Lone Star CASA’s mission is to provide a voice for children in Kaufman and Rockwall County who have experienced abuse and neglect by providing them with a trained volunteer advocate to work alongside children and families so they can achieve safety and stability to fulfill their potential.
Terrell has played a pivotal role in advancing this mission, notably through the active engagement of local companies. Leading businesses such as JS Helwig and Son, Hickory Roots BBQ, and Raising Cane’s, have consistently shown their support for Lone Star CASA, furthering the mission to serve the children in our community. Thanks to this collective effort, Lone Star CASA successfully served 203 children in Rockwall and Kaufman counties during the fiscal year of 2023, 162 of these children being from Kaufman County alone.
In addition, the Terrell location Dutch Brother’s raised $1,175 which will be dedicated to further supporting Lone Star CASA’s ongoing initiatives aimed at advocating for children who have endured the effects of abuse and neglect within our region.
