Republic Services Donates $9,000 to Lone Star CASA

Rockwall TX —

For Immediate Release

Rockwall, TX (April 21, 2023) – Republic Services, a leading provider of waste and recycling services, has donated $9,000 to Lone Star CASA, a non-profit organization that advocates for children who have experienced abuse and neglect in Kaufman and Rockwall counties. The donation will help Lone Star CASA fulfill its mission of providing trained volunteer advocates to work alongside children and families so they can achieve safety and stability to fulfill their potential.

“We are incredibly grateful for our partnership with Republic Services,” said Lauren Rowe, Executive Director of Lone Star CASA. “Their continued support of our organization and the children we serve in our community is truly inspiring.”

Republic Services has been a loyal sponsor and supporter of Lone Star CASA’s largest annual fundraising events, Bunco & Bubbles and Clays for CASA, which have brought in hundreds of thousands of dollars for CASA kids and volunteers through the years.

Through their generosity, Lone Star CASA will be able to continue to advocate for the children experiencing abuse and neglect in our community. In 2022, Lone Star CASA advocated for over 180 children in Rockwall and Kaufman counties; 87 of these children achieved some form of permanency when their cases were closed.

CASA volunteers with Lone Star CASA are members of the community who are specially trained and appointed by judges to advocate for a child or sibling group while they are in the foster care system. They advocate for the child in court, school and other settings, and get to know everyone involved in the child’s life, including their parents, foster parents, teachers, doctors, family members, and others.
