Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), an organization dedicated to serving abused and neglected children in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties, is holding their first annual Bunco event on Saturday, March 20th from 10:00am – 2:00pm.
The event will be held at Chandlers Landing Yacht Club. Although this will be an in-person activity, CDC guidelines regarding safe social distancing will be observed, and masks will be required by all participants, volunteers, and staff.
In addition to the Bunco game, brunch will be provided to all attendees, bottomless mimosas will be served, and there will be a silent auction featuring donated items from the community.
“We’re incredibly excited about this event at the Yacht Club. It’s going to be a lot of fun for everybody, and of course, it’s going to help a great cause. Last year we saw our caseload rise to over 300, and we expect even more abused kids to be identified as everybody returns to normal life when after COVID subsides” says Jennifer Ashmore, president of the Lone Star CASA board.
“Our board, volunteers, donors, and the folks at Chandlers Landing have worked so hard to make this event happen,” notes Lauren Rowe, Lone Star CASA’s executive director. “It’s heartwarming to see people come together to support kids in need, and I’m looking forward to a great turnout.”
