September 2, 2025 – The Honorable Judge Brett Hall officially swore in
eight new volunteers during two ceremonies at the Rockwall County Courthouse this past month.
On August 8, Ana T., Ijeoma U., and Renae G. took the oath. A second
ceremony on August 29 welcomed Aimee A., Connie V., Erin E., Kevin C., and
Michelle C.. Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is proud to welcome
these dedicated individuals as the newest CASA Volunteers, ready to serve children who have
experienced abuse and neglect in Kaufman and Rockwall Counties.
These committed volunteers will join Lone Star CASA’s mission to advocate for children and
families in the foster care system. They will work tirelessly to ensure children’s voices are heard
and that their needs are met during their journey through the legal system.
Before being appointed to a case, CASA Volunteers complete 30 hours of training to prepare
them to advocate for children’s best interests. Each new volunteer will be assigned to a child or
sibling group, working with families, caregivers, and professionals to help ensure the child’s
safety, stability, and the opportunity to thrive.
Lone Star CASA volunteers have stepped up in an incredible way— advocating for 266 children
so far this year, compared to 214 children last year – a 24% increase! That’s more voices
elevated, more children supported, and more futures protected and with that growth comes a
greater need for community involvement. By supporting Lone Star CASA through North Texas
Giving Day, you can help ensure these children find safety, stability, and a permanent home.
