Lone Star CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children), an organization dedicated to the serving abused and neglected children in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties, is holding their annual sporting clay shoot in conjunction with Texas Gun Ranch on August 22nd.
The event will be held at Texas Gun Ranch. In addition to the clay shoot itself – which costs $150 to shoot or $600 for a team – the event will include a raffle with a Beretta A300 as the prize, a silent auction, and flurry shoot.
The winner of the flurry shoot wins a three-month membership to the Texas Gun Ranch. Other prizes will include a Liquor and Lottery Basket, Boat Rental, Shooting Instruction, Gift Cards, and more.
“We’re very grateful to Texas Gun Ranch, all of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants for helping make this event a success,” says Lauren Rowe, Executive Director at Lone Star CASA. “Like many non-profits, we’ve had a challenging time raising money in the current environment, and are thankful for folks coming out to support our mission to help abused and neglected children.”
“The work we do for these kids is essential” notes Jennifer Ashmore, president of the Lone Star CASA board. “There were 285 cases of abuse and neglect in our community last year, and we expect those numbers will rise rapidly when we open up and teachers, coaches, clergy, and other members of our community begin reporting what’s happened while kids have been trapped at home during COVID.”
To register for the clay shoot, please visit https://www.lonestarcasa.org and click the icon that says “AIM TO END CHILD ABUSE CLAY SHOOT 2020.”
Those who aren’t able to attend the clay shoot are encouraged to visit https://lonestarcasa.org/help and make a donation online. All it takes is $7 to support a child for one day.
