Lone Star CASA announces the conclusion of Sandra Ownby tenure as Board Chair, marking the end of six extraordinary years of leadership, dedication, and service to children and families in our community.
During her time as Board Chair, Ownby played a pivotal role in guiding Lone Star CASA through a period of growth and impact. Under her leadership, the organization strengthened its governance, expanded community partnerships, and deepened its commitment to advocating for children who have experienced abuse or neglect.

Known for her collaborative spirit and deep passion for service, Ownby leaves behind a legacy rooted in integrity, accountability, and care for the most vulnerable children in our community.
Reflecting on her service, Ownby shared, “When I talk to others about supporting Lone Star CASA, I share what I witnessed firsthand during my time on the Board: CASA transforms uncertainty into hope for children navigating the foster care system. While Ownby is rolling off the Board Chair role, Lone Star CASA celebrates the enduring impact of her service and looks forward to building on her contributions.
