Popular Rockwall Car Show Marks 20th Year—With Goal of $100K to Benefit Area Kids

– Cars for CASA started as a humble endeavor in 2005, featuring 40
cars, and bringing in roughly $2,600 for Lone Star CASA, which advocates for children
who’ve experienced abuse and neglect in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties. Cars for CASA
is now a premier autoshow for enthusiasts, drawing people from all across the Metroplex
and beyond, wanting to showcase their cars for a good cause. In contrast, this year’s event,
aims to attract more than 400 cars and bring in an estimated $100,000 to benefit the local
nonprofit.
Hosted by the same dedicated team of more than 40 volunteers with the Metro East
Division of the Dallas Builders Association, the event has mushroomed in 20 years. “It is
hard to believe we have been doing this for so long, and that so many participants have
been right there with us the entire time” said Cars for CASA Co-founder Doug Bowerman.
“We can’t thank these volunteers enough for their outstanding efforts on behalf of the
children and families we serve,” said Lone Star CASA Executive Director Lauren Rowe. “Our
mission is to be there for whatever our children need, and it’s gratifying to know that
mission resonates and calls to action so many in our community.
Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 18, 2025, and head west on I-30 to the Rockwall
County Courthouse (1111 E. Yellowjacket Ln.) Kicking off at 10 a.m., this family-friendly,
free-to-attend event will feature everything from muscle cars and motorcycles to hot rods
and custom builds. They’ll even have live music and food trucks to round out the festivities,
all while making a real difference for local children.
