September 2026 — On September 17, communities across North Texas will come together for North Texas Giving Day, an annual celebration of generosity that raises millions of dollars for nonprofits serving the region. Lone Star CASA is joining this year’s movement and inviting residents, businesses, and community partners to support children and youth who have experienced abuse or neglect.
For children involved in the child welfare system, having a consistent, caring adult in their corner can make all the difference. Lone Star CASA advocates for children and youth in Rockwall and Kaufman Counties by empowering trained volunteers to amplify their voices, partner with families, and promote safety, stability, and positive futures.
The need for advocacy continues to grow. This year, Lone Star CASA has already served 256 children, more than 40 additional children compared to this time last year. As the number of children needing advocacy increases, so does the need for dedicated volunteers and community support.
“North Texas Giving Day is an opportunity for our entire community to come together for the well-being and future of children,” said Jacob Griffin, Executive Director of Lone Star CASA. “Every donation helps us recruit and train more volunteers and ensure more children have someone standing beside them, listening to them, and advocating for what they need.”
How You Can Support Lone Star CASA
Give. Make a donation to Lone Star CASA through North Texas Giving Day. Your gift helps provide trained CASA Volunteer Advocates to children and youth who need a consistent voice in the child welfare system.
Share. Help spread the word by sharing Lone Star CASA’s North Texas Giving Day campaign with friends, family, coworkers, and social media followers. Use #NTxGivingDay and #SupportLoneStarCASA to help raise awareness.
Become a CASA Volunteer Advocate. Financial support is only one way to make an impact. Lone Star CASA is always looking for compassionate adults who are willing to speak up for children and advocate for their best interests. Volunteers receive specialized training and support throughout their service.
Engage Your Community. Encourage your workplace, civic organization, faith community, or social group to join the effort. A conversation, social media post, fundraiser, or workplace campaign can help introduce new supporters to Lone Star CASA’s mission.
Check for Matching Gifts. Many employers match charitable donations made by their employees, potentially doubling the impact of your gift. Check with your employer or Human Resources department to see if a matching gift program is available.
By supporting Lone Star CASA, donors help ensure that children and youth navigating the child welfare system have a trained, dedicated advocate in their corner and someone who listens to their story, brings their needs to the attention of decision-makers, and helps them move toward a safe and stable future.
