At the

10.26.2019 Kaufman Texas Scarecrow Festival

on the Historic Kaufman Town Square

Don’t miss the festival kick off with the parade at 9 a.m.

Come and see magic shows, circus acts, live bands, unique vendors, and more.

 

And, join us at the CASA booth for All things PIE!  Who bakes the best pie?  Not a baker?  Maybe a pie eater?

Certainly a pie thrower!!  Are you ready for some pie?

 

Register now for the Pie Baking contest…10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Bake and enter your favorite pie by 10 a.m.  Judging is from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.  First, second and third place winners in both adult and children’s categories will be announced at noon.

Register now for the Pie Eating contest…1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Is it a challenge or is it “easy as pie” to finish a pie as fast as you can?  Can you finish first?  Be ready, and hungry, at 1 p.m.! First, second and third place winners in both adult and children’s categories will be awarded at 3:30 p.m.

Pie Throwing…4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Who will be getting a pie in the face?  You might be surprised!  Between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., don’t miss this rare opportunity to give someone who you might possibly know a pie in the face!

CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers are appointed by a judge to discover the best possible outcome for abused or neglected children in foster care.  It is the goal of the CASA volunteer that every one of these children is in a safe, permanent home, in a timely manner.

You don’t have to be a lawyer or social worker to be a volunteer.  We welcome volunteers from all cultures, professions, and educational backgrounds.  We are looking for people with a desire to help abused children.

WHAT DOES A VOLUNTEER DO?

  • • Complete 30 Hours of New Volunteer Training
  • • Review Case Records
  • • Research Information
  • • Prepare Court Reports
  • • Make recommendations to the Court
  • • Advocate in Court
  • • Complete 12 hours of training per year
